As a multidisciplinary designer, I am always
keen to try something new. My passion for problem-solving has allowed me to learn many new mediums and techniques over my career,
so I can always provide the right solution to a brief

My name is Phoebe Thondan and I am a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary graphic designer. I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design)(Honours).

I spent a year on industry placement at design agency Cordial Creative. As a junior designer, I worked on many projects over 12 months for high-profile clients such as the Victoria State Government, Olympus, Bentley Homes, Safer Care Victoria and many more. Cordial Creative is a multidisciplinary studio, which allowed me to explore many fields of design, such as publication, advertising and digital design, and many audiences, from corporate to casual consumers.
Alongside many great team projects, I was lucky to be assigned large-scale projects that
I designed independently, from concept ideation to finished art and press setup.

While working at Cordial, I put in the effort daily to learn the ins and outs of studio dynamics. Some of the notable tasks I completed as a junior include: Participated in team brainstorms to develop or refine concepts. Implemented content into layouts designed by colleagues, in-house designers and other design firms, sometimes even localising the content along the way. Played a part in huge, multi-month projects. Worked closely with creative leads. Created revisions in response to client feedback. Worked simultaneously among colleagues on different stages of the same projects, where we had to unify the visual style of our respective outputs. Worked on high-pressure projects, with urgent deadlines which required quick turnarounds. Feedback was sporadic or often needed to be clarified, due to the hierarchal structure of many client companies. Worked on time-sensitive projects with strict NDAs. Learned to navigate a fast-paced studio environment. Studied press processes by setting up other team member's files for press, and visiting the press warehouse to watch my projects be printed.

As part of my Honours year, I submitted a publication to the International Society of Typographic Designers. My submission to the International Typographic Awards for 2023 was successful and I have been awarded membership into the society.I also have worked freelance since December 2021, working for local and small businesses to help with branding, publications and social media.
